One more good puzzle.
A little more to discover.
Meet the characters rather than the actors
A memorable character can travel from a book to a stage or screen while keeping a recognizable name. This board returns to story characters rather than performers, film titles, or authors. Its selection crosses novels, plays, detective stories, and fantasy, so recognizing one literary world will not reveal every target. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice follows Elizabeth Bennet and the people around her; Charles Dickens gives Great Expectations a different cast and setting. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland introduces a stranger kind of company. The linked editions offer background reading, not a requirement to finish those books before playing. You can use this as a letter challenge even when some stories are unfamiliar.
Choose the right form of a familiar name
Twenty-four targets are fixed in a twenty-two by twenty-two grid. The selection uses recognizable full names, single character names, and a few names with titles. Spaces disappear inside the board, so a name printed as two words becomes one continuous line of letters. The online list stays hidden for the hard challenge; the printed list gives the exact chosen forms when you want a guided edition. Remember that a surname alone may not complete a longer target. Some short names also have little structure to distinguish them from filler letters. Check the complete candidate and its spelling before selecting, and use the separate answer view if the target forms become a source of frustration.
Let long surnames lead the search
A distinctive name ending is often easier to follow than a common first letter. Start with a long candidate you remember, look for a recognizable group of letters, and trace through each straight direction. The board allows horizontal, vertical, and diagonal answers, including reversed ones. Two names can cross without losing either answer, and their marked paths can help you divide the remaining search into smaller areas. Select both endpoints with taps or clicks, drag with a mouse, or use the keyboard. A rejected selection may be missing an opening title or a final letter rather than pointing in the wrong direction. Repeating an already found name leaves the progress count unchanged.
Keep the story discussion optional
There is no reading-history score and no deadline. You might recognize a name from an adaptation, remember a scene, or simply enjoy resolving an unfamiliar spelling. Sharing those associations is optional, and the puzzle does not reproduce passages from the books. A printed copy includes the same frozen letters, the full name list, and a URL for returning to the online version. Opening answers reveals the stored paths without claiming that you found them yourself. Orchestra is another hard search with long, distinctive vocabulary. Classic Cinema offers a visible-list large-print follow-up about film titles rather than characters, while Rocks and Earth Science changes both the subject and the kinds of names you will be looking for.
